With Orca’s version 2.1, enterprise IT Teams that operate in complex, heterogeneous environments now have even more coverage and support to automatically control their application environments. Users of NGINX and NGINX Plus, MS SQL Server and YAML files can now model their application ecosystem, enforce compliance and control of their application configurations, intelligently automate their workflows, and deliver audit-ready compliance reporting.
New NGINX & NGINX Plus Support
Today Orca users have even more coverage and control of their application ecosystems because Orca v 2.1 now supports NGINX Plus and open source versions. This is especially important for teams who value event-driven, asynchronous architecture where static content needs to be served up quickly. Teams use Orca to automate configuration changes to NGINX Plus environments, compare configurations between servers and environments, detect configuration drift and remediate.
New Support for YAML
Orca v 2.1 also offers support for YAML files including multiple embedded documents. With Orca, teams can now manage YAML file contents, compare YAML configuration files between servers and environments, detect and correct configuration drift.
New Schema Support for MS SQL Server
Orca enhances its MS SQL Server configuration automation coverage to include new schema support. This includes the ability for DBAs to automate configuration changes to database logins, database settings, database users, tables, table columns, views and indexes. Orca continually adds support for SQL Server and other databases as well.
Schema.org, sponsored by Google, Microsoft, Yandex and Yahoo is used by 10 million sites to markup web pages and email messages with a structured approach to internet data. With Orca’s new database schema support, Schema users and IT Operations teams now manage database configurations from an application perspective within the same solution used to manage application and middleware configuration changes. It’s very easy to understand current database configurations for each application and compare database schema configurations between applications and environments. This level of off-the-shelf, unified application and database schema support can only be found with Orca and its Orca Normalization Engine.
About Team Orca
Team Orca founders are veterans at improving and automating once-painful IT processes. They started Build Forge (now part of IBM) to accelerate software delivery through build process automation. Later they started VaraLogix (now part of BMC) to take the risk and uncertainty out of web application deployment. Now Team Orca is excited to improve life for IT teams by streamlining time consuming, money wasting, overly complex configuration processes that many have just taken for granted for too long.
